About Me:

I began my art career as a Graphic Designer after earning a Diploma of Art and a Degree in Graphic Design from Qld College of Art in Brisbane. Transitioning from the graphic design industry, I spent a decade as a Graphic Design lecturer,

before stepping away to focus on raising my two children while pursuing visual

art and facilitating private art classes and workshops.

Artist Statement:

My artwork draws inspiration from various sources, yet my creative process

remains consistent. The world around me, whether my home suburb of

Wynnum Manly or a simple bouquet of flowers, provides me with themes and

ideas. Each stimulus is thoroughly explored through the creation of a series of

artworks, with some themes providing ongoing inspiration for years.

Drawing from my graphic design background, I approach each piece by

interpreting photographic content, simplifying elements, and playing with

colours to craft the composition and final artwork. Employing diverse mark-

making techniques and art materials such as aerosols, inks, acrylics, oils and

pencil, I layer textures and details to enhance visual interest.
