Jenny Fidler
About the Artist
I’ve always had a passion for Art, which started in my early childhood years with chalk drawings on just about anything available, concrete pathways, walls no flat surface was safe. It wasn’t until my senior years at high school when I discovered oil paints, that I realised that painting was going to play such a big part in my life.
I started with landscapes and seascapes around the southern end of the Gold Coast and Currumbin Valley, however with no formal training I relied on the techniques of the old masters like Rembrandt and Van Gough and would replicate their works from photographs in art books. In those initial years I painted alone for many hours through many nights, hunched over my easel painting still lives, portraits and landscapes.
Over the years my techniques in placing oil on canvas broadened through a combination of experimentation, advice from my peers, and my association with many professional artisans. I paint for the love of painting and for the satisfaction it provides my inner soul.
Each painting or drawing is the accumulation of months of research involving photographs, historical attributes, lighting etc, and an overall commitment to portray the story behind the art in the art
